Adela Ourednickova: A Rising Star

At just 18 years old, Adela Ourednickova from the Czech Republic is making waves in the motorsports world as a competitor in the inaugural WorldWCR Championship, an all-female superbike series. Representing a new generation of female racers who are challenging the status quo and inspiring others, Adéla's journey is nothing short of remarkable. I had the opportunity to ask her about her path to the championship and her aspirations for the future.

Despite being one of the youngest competitors in the Championship, Adela has already experienced unforgettable moments in her blooming racing career. Reflecting on her journey, she shares, I don’t have the same experience as most competitors, but my greatest experience was when I received the announcement that I was accepted into the women’s world of motorsport. It’s indescribable how happy I was.

Before diving into her current racing endeavours, it’s essential to understand how she got into motorsports. Adéla's family has a history of racing, and she “got into motorsports through [her] dad.” Her love for motorcycles began almost accidentally, as she remarked, “I never expected to ride a motorcycle; I was always into girly sports. But one day, my dad lent me a minibike, and I fell in love with it.” When asked about who her role model was growing up, she responded with the infamous, Valentino Rossi”.

Adela showed her humble and mature mindset towards her goals for her championship season, stating that she “would like to place in the top 10 and learn from the best girls in motorsport”. When asked how she feels to be selected as a competitor she explained how incredibly grateful she was, and spoke of it as an “indescribable joy and experience”. Whilst she looks forward to it she also states how she “has respect”.

With such a promising future, it’s only natural to wonder what her goals for her future career are. Perhaps the reason she is so encouraging is her desire to do it “for pleasure and not as an obligation”. We will have to wait and see as her career develops and blossoms, “maybe in time [she will] have a goal in motorsports career”.

To sign off, I asked her if she had any advice for women hoping to get into professional racing: “Certainly let them do their thing, it’s an exceptional sport and not for anyone, so if you enjoy it and you have the opportunity to get somewhere this far, don’t hesitate and definitely take it”.
