Kalina Benhamou: Building a Global Motorsport Community

Updated: Feb 6

Passion for motorsport can start in many ways, through family, competition, or even

a single race that sparks a lifelong passion. For Kalina Benhamou, it was a journey

that began just a few years ago, rapidly evolving into a career as a content creator,

storyteller, and advocate for inclusivity in motorsport and automotive culture.

With a deep appreciation for the stories, history, and connections that fuel car culture worldwide, Benhamou has travelled across continents to immerse herself in the racing scene. From Tokyo Auto Salon to rallies in Italy, her work isn’t just about cars, it’s about the people, the passion, and the vibrant communities that exist around them.

Unlike many lifelong motorsport fans, Benhamou’s entry into the racing world came

relatively recently. “I was first introduced to Formula 1, and I became obsessed very

quickly,” she recalls. But rather than limiting her interest to F1, she dove headfirst

into the broader world of motorsport, exploring everything from endurance racing to the rich culture surrounding automotive history.

Attending car events near her then home in Los Angeles was the turning point. “I

started going by myself just to experience more, and that’s when I realized there was

such a strong community within this world” she explains. It was never just about the

cars—it was about the culture, the people, and the shared love for racing.

As someone already familiar with social media, transitioning into content creation felt

natural. “My whole family is in content creation, we all have our own channels, so I

was already engaged with sharing parts of my life online”. What started as casual

posts about her growing interest in motorsport quickly became her focus, and today,

her platform continues to grow as she connects fans from around the world.

Benhamou’s lifestyle as a digital nomad has given her a unique perspective on how

motorsport and car culture differ across the world. Whether in Japan, Italy, or the

United States, she has witnessed first-hand how different countries celebrate their

automotive heritage in distinct ways.

“Each country has its own unique way of celebrating cars,” she reflects. “Even when

I travel for non-motorsport reasons, I always find myself discovering the car scene

wherever I am. It’s fascinating, every place is different, but at the same time, this

passion brings people together.”

When asked about her favourite destination, she struggles to pick just one. “I really

love Japan, especially the JDM culture,” she shares. Having previously visited on

family trips, returning with a motorsport-focused itinerary opened up an entirely new

side of the country. “It was a completely different experience, I saw a version of

Tokyo I’d never seen before.”

Her ability to immerse herself in diverse car cultures and share those

experiences has made her a valuable voice in the motorsport content space.

Whether she’s attending a high-profile auto show or an underground car meet,

Benhamou’s storytelling brings fans along for the ride.

While motorsport has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated space,

Benhamou has made it a priority to foster a welcoming community, especially for

female fans.

“I’ve often found myself being one of the few women at some of these events,” she

acknowledges. “I’ve been fortunate to have a positive experience, but I understand

why it might seem intimidating for others at first. I want to change that.”

For her, the goal is simple: to make motorsport feel more open and approachable for

everyone, regardless of gender or background. Over time, she has seen more

women attending events, forming car clubs, and becoming content creators—a shift

that excites her. “Women are interested in this world, but sometimes they don’t know

where to start." Her online presence has helped create a space where female fans feel seen and

supported, proving that enthusiasm for racing isn’t defined by gender.

As Benhamou continues to grow her platform, her goals remain deeply rooted in

storytelling and community building. “A big goal for me is to keep finding and sharing

unique car stories,” she says. “It’s not just about the cars themselves, it’s about

people’s relationships with them, the history behind them, and the special memories

attached to them.”

Another key focus is expanding her global reach, continuing to travel, explore, and

connect with enthusiasts across different cultures. “I want to keep sharing the global

side of car culture and find ways to connect enthusiasts together”.

For those looking to break into motorsport content creation, Benhamou’s advice is

clear: be authentic, be curious, and don’t be afraid to take the first step.

“Follow your interests, ask questions, and talk to people” she encourages. “The most

important thing is to believe in yourself and have courage.”

Her journey from motorsport newcomer to influential content creator is proof

that passion, persistence, and an open mind can lead to incredible opportunities. As

she continues to carve her path, one thing remains certain, Kalina Benhamou is

helping shape the future of motorsport media, one story at a time.
