At just 18, Lola Lovinfosse is not only making waves on the track, but she's also challenging stereotypes and inspiring young women worldwide. As a French driver for Rodin Motorsport in the F1 Academy, Lola is carving out a path in motorsport, proving that talent, passion, and hard work know no gender.

In an exclusive interview, Lola opens up about her journey into racing, the challenges she has faced, and her mission to inspire future generations of women in motorsports.
“I started racing when I was 8 years old. My dad was a huge motorsports fan from a young age, and my grandfather shared the same passion,” she recalls. From that family bond grew Lola’s love for karting, where she often found herself as the only girl competing. Yet, rather than feel isolated, Lola embraced it as a source of motivation. “Being the only female in my races was motivating. I tried other sports, but racing was where I felt I truly belonged.”
But Lola's journey hasn’t been without its challenges. The financial strain of competing in motorsport almost cut her dream short. “Two years ago, we ran into a big budget issue. I couldn’t finish my F4 season, and I thought that was it,” she admits. Just as the road seemed to end, the F1 Academy opened a new chapter for her.

One of the most difficult aspects of being a woman in motorsport, Lola explains, is earning respect. “The hardest part is gaining credibility. You want your voice to be valued within the team—whether it's with engineers or mechanics. Sometimes, being a female driver, they think, ‘Maybe she’s not as motivated as a male driver,’ or that you’re there for the wrong reasons.”
But Lola has never let this stop her. “You have to show them your drive and passion. Even if it means working two or three hours more than others,” she says, demonstrating the dedication that defines her career.
One of the most pivotal moments for Lola was her partnership with beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury, a collaboration that surprised and thrilled her. “When they told me I was going to be followed by Charlotte Tilbury, it was such a huge milestone,” she shares. For Lola, this partnership is more than a sponsorship—it’s a statement about breaking down traditional barriers in motorsports. “It was unexpected, but it shows that we’re breaking stereotypes. The support from Charlotte Tilbury and the team has been incredible.”

The partnership has also opened up new ways to engage with fans, especially young girls. “Being an inspiration for young girls, like the girl I was just a few years ago, is such a rewarding feeling,” she says. “The fans love it, and I think it’s part of why I’m one of the most-followed drivers in F1 Academy.”
When asked about her own inspirations, Lola draws from both male and female figures. “Prost was someone I could look up to,” she says, referencing the legendary French driver Alain Prost. But she’s quick to highlight the importance of women in motorsports too. “When I started in single-seaters, the only female driver I knew was Sophia Flörsch. She’s done the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and she’s been a great role model for women in motorsports.”
Lola's journey has required sacrifices, especially when it comes to balancing her personal life with the demands of racing. “When I was 11, I left home for a sports academy 300 kilometres away. I had to become independent really early,” she explains. Today, her commitment is unwavering. “I just moved to Spain to be close to my physio until the end of the season. It’s hard being away from family, but it’s worth it to show the people I work with that I’m serious.”

As for the future, Lola is focused on staying in motorsport, though she acknowledges the road may twist and turn. “I would love to keep racing, but I know single-seaters might not always be an option. I’m looking at GT cars or endurance racing, and I’m giving myself two or three years to join a factory team and hopefully become a professional driver.”
But even if her career on the track takes a different turn, Lola is determined to stay in motorsports. “If I can’t race, I still want to be involved—maybe as a manager, coach, or working with a team. This world is my life, and I want to stay connected to it.”
Lola’s advice to young girls dreaming of a career in motorsport is heartfelt and empowering. “Focus on yourself. You don’t need anyone to start,” she says. “Just go to the nearest track, connect with people, and make it happen. Prepare physically and mentally because you never know when an opportunity will come.”

Lola also highlights the power of social media in today’s motorsport world, stressing that it's an essential tool for building a career. “Social media is massive now, even in motorsport. Whether it’s TikTok, Instagram, or any other platform, start sharing your story. Show people what you’re passionate about and let them follow your journey.”
